Zip World and Bounce Below

Adventure and Outdoor Activities North Wales

If you have not come across Zip World before - be ready for the experience of a lifetime! Zip World offers a unique range of adventures in the heart of Snowdonia.

Zip World Velocity - Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda

Velocity is the "Nearest Thing to Flying"! Home to the longest zip line in Europe and the fastest in the world.

This adrenalin fuelled attraction offers visitors a totally unique experience. Speeds in excess of 100mph can be reached.

Velocity has two pairs of zip lines. The experience starts with the 'Little Zipper'. This is a great introduction and confidence builder with a maximum speed of around 45mph. The journey takes riders into the heart of the historic Penrhyn Quarry where the off road journey to the Big Zipper commences.

The journey up the mountain in a specialised off road vehicle is magnificent. The Quarry Tour involves a journey through, what was once, the largest slate quarry in the world. Around every corner is evidence of an industrial past which our professional drivers bring to life and they will astound you with their knowledge and captivating stories.

Where the Quarry Tour ends the Big Zipper begins. This is a mile long zip line that provides riders with a birds-eye view of the historic quarry and the spectacular North Wales coast line and beyond.

Zip World Titan - Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Blaenau Ffestiniog

Zip World Titan brings you the largest Zip Zone in Europe, with over 8km of zip lines.

Zip World Titan is the first of its kind, the only 4 person zip line in Europe, where riders fly down all three zip lines in unison of teams of 4, reaching speeds of up to 70mph over moor, mountain and mine.

Riders will be taken by vehicle to the start of the first zip line - the longest of the three, there is a short and scenic walk between the end and start of the next two zip lines.

The last zip line returns riders back to the start at Llechwedd Slate Cavern, flying high over the buildings as you come in to land.

Bounce Below - Llechwedd Slate Caverns

Bounce Below is the first facility of its kind in the world, located at the Zip World Titan site at Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Bleanau Ffestiniog, North Wales.

Hidden underground in a 176-year old disused cavern that is twice the size of St Paul's Cathedral, you will find this subterranean playground installed with huge 'bouncy nets'!

These trampline like nets are hung within two vast chambers at different levels, the highest being 180 feet up from the bottom of the cavern, linked together by walkways and slides.

The train journey into the cavern takes approximately 5 minutes, where you disembark into the belly of the cavern, nestled 100 feet below the surface of the Earth.

The walls of Bounce Below are covered with technicoloured lights revealing the beauty of the underground cavern and add to the already unique experience.

The activity lasts approximately 1 hour, where you are free to bounce, climb and slide.

The best thing is Bounce Below is open all year round!

To avoid disappointment please ensure to pre-book your experience.

PLEASE NOTE: Children under the age of 18 years will not be permitted to use any activity unless booked by and accompanied by an adult at all times.

Zip World Caverns - Llechwedd Slate Caverns

Zip World Caverns is the world’s largest fully underground zip line course!

Zip World Caverns – a unique subterranean adventure playground – brought another world first to North Wales in May 2015.

The huge slate cavern – which could house 75 double decker buses – will offer visitors the chance to experience a gripping journey through a vast series of historic mine chambers.

Zip World Caverns takes its daring adventurers on a number of thrilling zip lines interspersed with rope bridges, balance beams, tunnels and breath-taking stretches of via ferrata – an Italian term literally translated as ‘iron road’ designed to assist soldiers crossing precipitous mountain passes.

In addition to the thrill-seeking obstacles, the walls of the cavern feature technicoloured lights which illuminate the subterranean background with vibrant colours. The LEDs also reveal the beauty of the underground cavern, which was cleared by hand for over a year. Construction workers were harnessed 100 feet high from the cavern floor using an intricate system of wires and pulleys in a process akin to the slate mining that took place there 200 hundred years ago.

Suitable for adults and children – aged 10 and above – and lasting for up to three hours, the experience is ideal for families looking for an alternative, action-packed day out. Visitor safety is of paramount importance and Zip World Caverns instructors are on hand to assist any nervous explorers.

Located near the historic town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the new adventure attraction is set to continue to help breathe new life into an ex-mining town that has suffered from unemployment in recent years.
