Remember the 1980s? Shoulder pads, JR Ewing, Arthur Daley, Del Boy, Audi Quattros, Back to the Future, Boy George, Duran Duran, Dangermouse? Then the Talyllyn Railway has a treat in store for you as the Railway is going back to the 1980s over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend (29 April – 1 May).
Whether it’s the 1980s cars you miss, or the pop hits, this will be a memorable weekend celebrating the 1980s iconic moments. Among the activities a 1980s Trivia Quiz will take place throughout the weekend and there will be a car display for your captivation in the yard at Wharf Station.
King’s Licensed Café will also be joining in with a 1980s themed menu, you may even find some retro sweets if you’re lucky! To make this weekend the home of the 1980s, a Rick Astley tribute will be appearing at King’s Café on Saturday 29 April at 7pm which is sure to knock your socks off! This will then be followed by a classic 80s disco so be sure to get your neon clothes out the wardrobe and break out those leg warmers, as best dressed will win some sparkling Babycham!
We still have space for more 1980s vehicles, so if you fancy bringing your motor along in exchange for free travel on the Railway for the weekend then give us a ring on 01654 710472.
